The title of my blogpost looks like some secret code, but I'm posting for two blogs: Sweet Stop Sketch #162(SSS) and Operation Write Home's Midweek Throwdown (OWH MWT).
The MWT at OWH challenge is to make a card with wings. I went to my Tim Holtz "Air Travel" stamp set, which has a map and airplane stamp. I stamped the map in Fired Brick and embossed the airplane over it with gold embossing powder. Then I just inked up the rest of the image with my Distress Inks.
I was lost on how to put the card together until I ran across the latest sketch from The Sweet Stop:
This is my card (another masculine one):
The paper is from BoBunny's Weekend Market 6x6 pad.
Thanks for looking!
How clever to use an airplane for the something with wings. Never thought of that. Love the paper you used.
ReplyDeleteErika, This is a very nice card and makes for a great "guy" card. The image is amazing and I love the paper also. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteOh, that's lovely! And Donna's right, it does make a super guy card! I also really like that sketch. I have a lot of larger rectangles, so I tend to get stuck in a rut, using designs that I just naturally go to. I'll keep it in mind. I love that BoBunny pad; I just got it a couple weeks ago.
ReplyDeleteI also used a plane for my challenge card, but it's about as different as two cards could get!
Well planes certainly have wings! Nice out-of-the-box thinking for this challenge. My first thoughts were birds and butterflies :)
ReplyDeleteI love the combination of paper, awesome card :)
ReplyDeleteYour card is gorgeous! I almost went with an airplane...for a little boy. I still need to do that sometime! Keep up the great work! TFS!!!
