Simple Thank You

I was going thru my green scraps and found this lovely leaf pattern paper.  While I was between cuts making another card, I used my Spellbinders and Memory Box dies to make this simple thank-you card:

I've cut the Memory Box die many times and have yet to color it - I keep using it in white because I think it's so elegant.  I'll add coloring it to my to-do list.

I'm entering this card in Challenge #4 -  Thank You over at Cardz TV.  There's lots of inspiration over there already for this challenge.

Sunshine Sunday

It's a sunny day today after two rainy days and I'm happy to see the sun.  Today's OWH sketch is #218 (although the OWH blog called it 118) with lots of layers:
I had the pieces of this card on my table and I wasn't sure how to put it together until I saw today's sketch:
The sun is Silhouette Design id Design ID #44196 and I stamped his expression with a Peachy Keen stamp.

My second card for today is in honor of Suzanne, whom we recently lost from our OWH community (read this link ).  It's wonderful to see her cards and commitment to our group and I wish her family peace in the coming months to fill the void that Suzanne leaves.

My card was inspired by the Miss You card she made for one of the Friday Features, which included balloons.
I used this file from Miss Kate's cuttables to make my card:

Thinking of a guy

A happy Saturday to ya!  I've got a baby shower to run to, but first I'm posting a card for the Gone Fishing  challenge at Cardz 4 Guyz.  I colored up this digi stamp with Copics and thought it would make a great card for a Dad to send to his son:

Papers are from my stash and the sentiment is Sign4froggy by Stamps of Life.

Purple and Yellow

Purple and Yellow is the Color Challenge for this week's OWH Midweek throwdown.  I combined this challenge with the Muse #60 challenge which had this card as our inspiration:
I actually have this stencil in my small stencil collection and was excited to pull it out and use it.  I imagined the background as a sunset and used Distress Inks as the background for my card:
I'm always looking for a way to put more purple in my cards and I love the combination with the yellow.  I added some Wink of Stella to the inks as well.

Thanks for stopping by.

Adding color to your day

I've been getting the Simon Says Stamp card kits since the beginning and my goal is to use up one kit before another arrives.  I'm close to finishing up the March 2014 kit, but since the April kit arrived today, I guess I missed my goal!  It's just something I do to justify getting the kits!

I used the crayon stamp and Deconstructed Sketch #143 for this card:

My supply list is below.  Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Hello!

Happy Sunday to ya!  Today brings another OWH sketch with lots of layers, which I love - Sketch #217. I used happy colors and changed to a rounded banner from the Silhouette store - Design ID #55835:

The brads are Basic Grey candy buttons - so cute!

Today's my daughter's birthday (24 yrs!) so I'm off to get the celebration going.

Thanks for checking in!

Making a 6x6 pad disappear

I've got many 6x6 pads that are halfway gone.  I use some of the papers, then get tired of them and switch to another set of papers.  The problem?  I rarely get back to that half-used pad of paper.  So, I'm trying to learn a new habit and use up an entire 6x6 pad.  I've been stalking OWH bloggers who do this successfully, like Airborne Wife and Kristie who made the 6x6 pad tutorial, so I can pick up their techniques.

An important point for me is to buy 6x6 pads with patterns and solid papers.  I've got pads with no solids, which forces me to hunt for matching paper in my stash.  When I don't have enough matching paper, then it becomes a real challenge to use up that pad!

OK, well enough about my issues.  I'm proud to say I made 29 Mother's Day cards from one Teresa Collins 6x6 pad, based on OWH Sketch #215:

I started with the sketch and when I had only scraps left, I designed this card:
The yellow paper is vellum, white paper is embossed with the Swirls folder and the squares are 1.5 x 1.5 inch, with opposing corners rounded.  I added a bit of twine, which allows me to enter this card into the latest PDE card challenge - Twine.

Wow - it felt great to see that pad of paper used up!  So good, that I bought three more pads of MME paper on sale at Michael's for $2.99 today!  (I couldn't pass that deal up!)

My final card today will catch me up to the latest OWH sketch #216.   I hate getting behind on sketches and this one went together very quickly:

That's it for me today - thanks for reading my long post!

Happy Birthday

This week's Midweek Throwdown challenge at OWH is Circles galore.  Although I'm working on Mother's Day cards, I switched to add a birthday card:

I went with big circles, right?  So, I toned them down with the small felt flowers and rectangle strip.  The sentiment is from Hero Arts.

I'm looking forward to this weekend - first weekend in a month that I won't be out of town!  Whew!  I need the break.  Thanks for stopping by!

Clean and Simple 3 class - Day 1

I've been busy with scrapping and my son's activities and haven't blogged in a while.  I've enrolled in another great online card class - Clean and Simple 3.  They've slowed the pace down, which works great for me since I can't learn/create/blog in one day!

Day 1 is all about faux effects and I tackled the faux metal effect for this one layer card:
The best part is that I made this card once!  One layer cards sometimes cause me to make the card on scrap paper first, but not this time!  I'm overcoming my one layer card fear!  Ha ha!

My second card is based on Sketch #214 from OWH:
Papers are from my stash and the sentiment is from the Hero Arts OWH fundraiser set.

I've got a lot of catching up to do since I've been away, but I'm looking forward to getting back in the cardmaking groove.

Thanks for stopping by!

March ODBD Challenge

Happy March to ya!  It's time for our monthly ODBD challenge theme, which is Thank You.  My card uses scraps:

Hmm...don't remember the paper this came from, but I cut the flowers by hand.  Sentiment stamp is from Simon Says Stamp.

And because I don't like missing out on one of the Midweek Throwdown challenges, here's a card for the Teal  challenge:
The "Just a note" cut file that you can get from my SVG files page.

I'm at a crop this weekend, so I'm busy scrapbooking for once!  It feels good to get back to doing pages, which is how I started papercrafting (before my card obsession took hold!)

Have a great Saturday!
