OWH Sketch #190 + Tuesday's tutorial

Hello!  I'm catching up with this Sunday's OWH sketch challenge and today's tutorial. When you procrastinate, like me, you get to combine your cards into one post!  Ha ha.

Anyhoo....here's the sketch:
and here's my card:
The Santa elf is from Simon Says Stamp "Gnome for the Holidays".  I colored him with Copics and embossed the green background with a Sizzix holiday folder.

Today's Tuesday tutorial was Coffee filter cards by Penny Ward, which blew my socks off!  When I heat embossed the filter, I thought it would melt for sure, but it stood up to the heat.  I used alcohol inks by Ranger to add the color to my filter, which I stamped leaves on:

I loved this technique - thanks for sharing it, Penny!  I can't wait to try this out again with different colors and stamps.

Thanks for dropping in!
